Guy's Weekend/Girl's Weekend

Tim was away this weekend for a bachelor party for his friend Matt. He's a good buddy from high school that's getting married in a couple of months, so they wanted to do it up right. They ended up having seven go for the weekend. It sounds like they had a great time eating, drinking (a little), and relaxing. We missed Daddy, but we're glad he had a wonderful time.
The Princess and I had a great weekend too (not so rowdy, but still fun :) ). The weather was amazing on Saturday, so we went on a wonderful stroller ride with Poppy and Sitti. Avery talked the whole time. It's kinda weird when she yells at people walking by, but whatever... We also got together with our friend Christie and did a little retail therapy. Shoes to be exact. We were a little disappointed about the selection at the mall. Maybe our retail therapy should be logging on to Zappos at the same time and emailing pictures of the shoes we like. I mean it was that bad in the three stores we went in! Better luck next time. Anyway, here are the pics for this past week. Enjoy!

Milestones

Avery is now crawling and sleeping on her belly some. This has happened all within the last week! It's amazing how much can change in such a short period of time. Oh, and she has her third tooth (letter e). It's extremely cute. See the post below for Avery crawling.
This weekend was nice. It was pretty warm, so we went to the park and had a picnic. With Avery's new found mobility, it was pretty difficult to eat our sandwiches. I pretty much had to eat with one hand and wrangle the princess with the other. I'm sure I'll get better at this as time goes on. We also spent some time with our friends Elizabeth and William. The babies are precious together. William is such a good walker and eating his big boy food. He's even using utensils (a little messily :) ). Here are a few pics. Wish me luck on baby proofing!

On the Move

Here are a couple of videos of Avery crawling. She did it for the first time on March 12 or on Dad and Rachel's birthday- we'll always remember the date :). The first video is two spliced together. Let's call them two different methods. The second video we'll call, "Drunk Crawl". Enjoy!

A Shower and a Birthday

Tim's sister, Gabrielle came in town this weekend for her wedding shower. It was wonderful spending time with her. She's getting married in less than two months! She and her fiancé are truly perfect together. It's really exciting to see them begin their new lives.
This weekend, we also celebrated Dad's birthday. Aunt Caroline and Uncle Charles came, as well as my brother and Amy. Amy just shaved her head and has the most beautiful noggin! She's hanging in there. We are all so impressed by her strength. You'll notice Carlos shaved is head too (sweet boy). We went to a new restaurant in town...we tend to have bad luck with decent restaurants here. This one is no exception, but maybe I just ordered the wrong thing (ugh, shivers). Anyway, I hope everyone had a great week. The weather here has been amazing (71 today).

Allergies and a Dental Meeting

This weekend was my alma mater's dental meeting and my Mom's 35th class reunion. 35th!! Everyone has to agree Momma Terry looks fabulous and it's hard to believe she's been practicing that long. My parents got together with some of their classmates while we had some family time and hung out with Aunt Shaunna. What a great weekend!
This week we got the results back from Avery's food panel. It wasn't entirely what we expected. She is also allergic to peanuts (not surprising) and cow's milk protein. The milk thing was not fun to find out, but she could grow out of it. This is just a jumping off point since we are doing another one at the 2 year mark when her immune system has settled. We've switched her to soy formula when we supplement. It's amazing how much better her tummy is with it. And we never would have known if it weren't for the wheat allergy. So it looks like I'm going to have to find a recipe for a "wheat-free, dairy free, nut free" first birthday cake...hmm, yummy.
Here are some new pics. Everyone have a wonderful week!

From Snow to Sun

Last weekend we were covered in snow. This weekend we had temperatures in the high 60s. It was beautiful. We took Avery and Finlay to the park. Avery yelled at people to say hello and Finlay sniffed the other dogs while trying to hide from the people. They make such a funny pair.
We also had dinner with our friends Ronda, Russell, Helena & Kevin . It's always interesting taking babies to restaurants. I still get pretty flustered until we get everything set up and princess is eating. I guess eventually we won't even think about it since it'll be like second nature. Helena is 5 months older than Avery and it's amazing how much more she can do. Like walking and eating real food! She was so cute feeding herself green beans and grilled cheese. And she calls everything "dawg" (including Avery :) ).
The end of this week we had Avery's 9 month doctor's appointment. He said she looks great. She's not going to win any size contests, though. She's in the 2nd percentile for weight and the 7th percentile for height (15 lb. 26 in.). She didn't have any vaccinations, but they did the toe stick for normal blood work. Then, because of her allergic reaction to wheat, they drew blood for a food panel. It was hard for me to watch them try and find a vein in her arm big enough for the needle. Let's just say they didn't succeed and we ended up using her fingers. We got what we needed though. She was a trooper. Here are some pics from our weekend. I hope everyone has a great week!

It was brought to my attention by some ladies at church that "Avery's hair is very stylish with the spikes on top". Yes, Avery has Kate Gosselin's old hair do. Ahhhh!!!!
