Siblings, Preschool, Nancy's B-day

The kids are becoming little travelers with the trips to finalize the new house and all the out of town weddings we have coming up.  They do really well in the car for  a newborn and two year old.  When Salem is supposed to have awake time, I sit in the back between the two kids.  It's fine until Avery starts to act like my little brother did- sticking her finger in my ear, wiping her boogie finger on my face, singing the same song over and over again.  It's just like 25 years ago! Tim just sits in driver's seat laughing.  He gets the repetitive kicking of his seat though.  That's when I get to laugh :).
Avery had her first day of preschool yesterday.  She seemed to have a good time. The teacher told me she did well.  She also said that all six kids in the class pooped while they were there.  I told her it was just peer pressure.  Poor teacher.
Nancy came home for a few days and we celebrated her birthday early before she went back.  She made a yummy spaghetti dinner that we all enjoyed. Avery really really enjoyed it.  I should've taken a pic of her mouth, nose, neck and shirt.  Thank you stain guard.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!

Smiles and Big Changes

Baby Salem has been smiling up a storm.  He is even starting to laugh some.  He is the cutest thing ever. Salem has also become enthralled with his feet. He cranes his little neck just to see them kicking. Although we are still dealing with the acid reflux, it is manageable. We'll just be so glad when he is through with it. Salem is giving us a lot more sleep lately. He goes down at 11pm and stays asleep till around 6am.  We are so blessed!
O.K. Big news: we are moving!!! Tim is being transferred for work to our home away from home.  We're thrilled and nervous at the same time.  It will be a big change for all of us.  After looking for short sales or foreclosures and not finding anything that would work for us, we decided to build a home.  The builder we're using has come down on prices significantly and we were able to negotiate a pretty good deal. They just released a new area of lots, so we had our pick.  We chose a lot one house over from a nature trail and one row back from a beautiful lake & park.  The house will take about 7 months to build.  We're putting our house on the market next week after the final paper work is done on the new house.  It should be very interesting trying to show a house with 2 little ones.  It should also be very interesting coordinating storage units for a house and a condo( we're renting it out) while we're waiting on our house to be built.  The next 7 months are going to be wild!
Please pray for me, Avery starts preschool next week. I will not cry, I will not cry....

Here's our lot (in the rain).  You can sort of see the lake in the background just past the white house.  The nature trail is lined by the trees on left. We will have an expensive lake view...until the owners of the lot behind ours builds :).

Salem 10 Weeks

Hey everyone just a quick post for Salem's weekly pics. There are a lot of changes coming for the Sinclair family.  I'll fill every one in next post.  Congrats to Sophia for bringing baby Jack into the world.  He is beautiful and has a head full of dark hair!  She might have a lebanese baby on her hands ;).

Great Grandmothers & Preschool Visit

This weekend we got together with both of the children's great grandmothers. We took Grandma out to lunch at a great sandwich place in town.  Then Ma came over and hung out for a little while.  I had a wedding shower for my adopted brother Ken, so Ma was able to help Tim babysit while I was gone.
I can't believe little Ken is all grown up and getting married.  He's been my brother's best friend since they were little tikes.  I'm so proud of Ken and all he's accomplished in his life so far.  His fiancĂ© is as sweet as can be.  I can't wait until the wedding! It will be gorgeous.
I took Avery to meet her preschool teacher before she starts in just a few weeks.  She was a little nervous and wanted me to hold her at first.  After we got into the classroom and saw her teacher's little boy, she was fine.  They played with toys and even went out on the playground for a little while.  I think she's going to love preschool.  It'll be a bit of a transition the first couple of weeks (for both of us!).
Salem is still trucking along.  He's making it from 10:30pm to 5:00am between feedings, so we are starting to get some sleep.  It's amazing what the right meds for acid reflux and "Baby Wise" can do for a good nights sleep.  He's only about 4 weeks behind when Avery started sleeping through the night -not too shabby considering all of his gastrointestinal issues. So proud of my boy!

Beating the Heat

It's been 100 + degrees for way too long here.  Needless to say, outside playtime isn't often an option.  We do have a really cute playground in town with a sprinkler tree thing. We took the princess there this weekend and had the whole park to ourselves.  It was awesome.  We were out there by 9:30am to beat the heat. We'll definitely be doing that again soon.
Salem is doing much better on his new meds.  We are so thankful to have some relief for him. It's like he's a new baby. There is still some fussiness, but nothing we can't handle. He's starting to interact a lot more. Little smiles here and there. It still might be gas, but we'd like to think he's smiling for us ;). We've got his 2 month appointment next week.  I can't wait to see how much he's grown.  Our Salem is on a whole different growth curve from Petite Princess Avery.
Everyone please keep Sophia in your thoughts and prayers.  She is due with her little one any day now. I love that we're having out babies so close together!
