The Move

We survived! We made it to the new house with only a few bumps a long the way.  After a couple of weeks we're finally starting to get settled.  The house is great.  It couldn't be in a better location.  We've been going to the park down the street almost every day.  We are one of the first houses complete on our street.  There is a lot of construction going on around us, but it hasn't been to noisy.  We met our soon to be neighbors next door.  They are an older retired couple and seem nice. There is also a sweet family behind our house with a couple older girls.  We're looking forward to meeting more neighbors and making some good friends.
Avery and Salem are adjusting well.  We had a few issues with Salem taking a bottle for a couple of weeks.  Thanks to Dave and Kathleen, we found a bottle that he will use.  The big boy has been sitting up for a little while now.  He's going through all these stages so fast!  Avery is missing her preschool friends and has asked about them a few times.  When we go to the playground, she expects to see them there :(.  The preschools here are all filled up and the local mom's morning out has a long wait list.  We did join a local Little Gym this week.  She seemed to love it.  It's weird though, because there are lot of nannies there with kids.  It's just a different feel from what we've had in the past.  Anyway, it gets her out socially and she'll start preschool in the fall.
Here are some pics from the move.  They are mostly from my cell phone.  It was nearly impossible to find anything for a while- like my camera.  We are so blessed to have some close friends and family here.  Thank you to everyone who helped with the transition.  We love you!

O.K. Some of you know that the movers tore up most of our furniture.  Here are just a few pics of the damage.  Each piece has multiple places damaged and every room in our house has torn up furniture. It makes me sad, but the owner is saying he will pay to have some of it fixed.  We will see...
Avery's brand new bookcase
Avery's brand new chest of drawers
Salem's exquisite crib
Salem's changing table
Master armoire
Hardwood damage and more armoire damage
Guest room dresser
Trunk
Now to much more pleasant things...

It's the first thing she wants to do in the mornings.  Look how sleepy she still looks !

This child is such a messy eater.  I've started double bibbing him some.
A sitting up boy!!  He's playing hoops with the basket ball goal Dad got him for Christmas.
With everything going on, I still managed to get the weekly pictures. Go me!
