Walking Boy, 3 y.o. Preschool, Tim's Birthday, Walk for Life

We finally have a walking boy!! He started walking a few weeks ago & now he is a speed demon. He is also completely fearless. Needless to say, we are keeping a close eye on this one. He's getting in 8 teeth all at the same time (4 canines & 4 1st molars).  He's a little fussy with these guys. His vocabulary is still increasing by leaps and bounds.  A few new words: Avery, high chair, monkey, love, bark,  flower. He loves blowing kisses and giving hugs especially at bedtime. He gets upset if he doesn't say 'Night' to everyone in the house. It's too cute. Oh, I love this stage!
Avery started 3 year old preschool at our church. She was so excited for her first day. It's a very different atmosphere from the small 2 y.o. program back home. Instead of 5 other kids in her class, there are 21. She has 4 teachers and they break up into small groups for activities.  I was a little worried about the transition, but our social butterfly is loving it. Avery has gotten so good at her balance bike. She is going to be on a big girl bike really soon.  She still has a few wipe outs when she's distracted, but we're really proud of her.
A couple of weekends ago, Shaunna came into town for a local food festival.  We had a wonderful time trying all kinds of yummy foods. Our favorites were fish tacos and of course Ben & Jerry's. There was live music and even a bounce castle & petting zoo for the kids. We slso got to meet some of Shaunna's friends. They were really sweet. We just wish they lived in the same town!
This weekend, we participated in a breast cancer walk in support of Amy. We didn't know if we would see her, but she and Carlos came to cheer us on.  The kids did great in the stroller and Avery raced a little towards the end. It was a great morning and Amy's Army raised over $2000!
After the race, we visited Grandma for her 90th birthday. She looked great and got a kick out of watching the kids run around. That night we celebrated Tim's birthday at the Sinclair house. It was great being with everyone and as a special present our football team kicked some Georgia bootie.  Go Gamecocks!

Jack's 1st birthday, Football, & Visitors

Wow, time has been going by fast! A few days ago Salem turned 15 months old.  He's doing really well.  He is not walking on his own, but he is soooo close.  He can do about 4 steps before he plops down on his hiney. Salem's vocabulary has really increased lately. Here are a few of his new words for posterity's sake:  water, milk, duck, dog, please, bar (for cereal bar), nack (for snack), up, back, dress, all done, sock, eye, nose, mouth, ear, no no no ( he here's that one quite a bit), & finally dat (for that).  His favorite repeat word is 'Hi'.  It's precious hearing that tiny voice.
Avery is as energetic as ever.  She has an amazing imagination. She loves singing, dancing and telling stories.  A couple of weeks ago, Avery started her first dance class of the school year. It's a ballet and tap class for 3-4 year olds.  She is in love with her shiny tap shoes and can't wait to go every week. Avery is still sweet to her brother most of the time (I'd say 80%?).  There is definitely some sibling rivalry starting. With Salem being very mobile and wanting to do everything his big sister does, it is a little difficult.  We're working through it, though.  Avery has her first day of 3 y.o. preschool Friday.  Tomorrow we go to meet her teachers and a few of her classmates. She is beyond excited to go. Here's hoping for now first day tears ( I guess it's really me, we should worry about ;))
Here are some photos & videos from the last month:
