Ballet Camp, July 4th, Anne's 60th

Avery had her first ballet camp this past month.  She was so excited to go.  There were just a hand full of 2 1/2 and 3 year olds in her class.  They danced and did arts and crafts in a week long morning program.  At the end of the week, the kids did a little end of camp recital.  Avery was so good at listening to her teacher that she didn't move much from her colored "X" on the ground.  Therefore, her moves are a little restrained.  She is still the cutest little ballerina around :).  She starts a full class in August.  It's a combination tap and ballet class. Avery is beyond thrilled to start dancing again.
We've been meeting some new neighbors and getting together with old friends.  We were so excited to have our high school friends Shawn and Elizabeth over for dinner one night.  We hadn't seen them in ages. They are expecting their first child soon & we couldn't be more more thrilled for them. I've also been getting together with one of my friends from college, Stephanie Anne. She doesn't live that far from us and has a little boy Salem's age.  They live in an amazing plantation and we had the best time visiting them and the animals.  Finally, some neighbors of our generation have moved in down the street.  They are so sweet and have a 6 y.o. girl and a 4 y.o. boy.  We've gotten together several times-gone to the beach, dinner, etc.  Apparently, there are lot more young families moving in on our street soon.  We're looking forward to meeting more new neighbors.
July 4th, we spent the morning at the beach with some of Tim's tennis buddies.  It was a great time with fun people.  It is pretty hilarious when we show up at the beach with our "compound" as Tim calls it.  We have a tent, 2 umbrellas, beach chairs, and a wheeled cart to carry all of our gear.  It is definitely a production with a 3 y.o. and a 1 y.o.  Once we get set up though, it is awesome. There were some great fireworks at night.  Salem slept through them, but Avery sang a listened to them in her bed.  They ended about 10 p.m. - not too long. It'll be nice when the kids can stay up a little later and enjoy them.
We went home for a weekend to celebrate Aunt Anne's 60th birthday.  It was great party downtown.  We got to spend time with family and enjoy hearing stories about Tim's Aunt.  We stayed with my parents, so we got spend time with them at the pool.  It's always nice going home for a little bit. We do miss it sometimes.
This weekend we had my Aunt Carolyn and Peter over for dinner. My cousin, Walt was in town too. It was wonderful seeing them. We a great time eating and talking up a storm.  It is so nice being close to some family.  We are also near my Dad's sister, Aunt Genie.  We visited them last weekend and went to a great little Mexican place. I love visiting their condo. They have the most beautiful view of the water.  Next year, we'll try and go see some fireworks from their place!

So we've had a bad run of mosquitoes lately.  These are from a few weeks ago. Poor Salem got a couple of bites on his eye. He looks like he's been in a fight.

He did so good.  They even used the clippers and he didn't budge!
