Salem's Christening

Our little man was baptized this weekend.  He looked so sweet in his bishop gown and hat.  The ceremony went well.  Salem was very content the first half of Mass and then it came time for the baptism.  He was cooing at the beginning, so we thought we were golden.  Then, he had enough and starting crying.  LOUD crying. Everyone seemed to think it was cute though.  Even the priest was smiling about it.  Little man ended up calming down after the holy water.  People were saying it was the "demons being banished".  Too funny. After Mass, we had a lovely luncheon at the country club.  It was absolutely wonderful being with all of our close friends and family.  Thank you to everyone who made Salem's special day so amazing!  A special thanks to Mom and Dad for such a beautiful luncheon!

Grandma's 89th B-day & Salem 18 Weeks

Tim's family was in town for his grandmother's birthday celebration.  We went to his Aunt Anne's house and had a great time. Anne likes to experiment with recipes and made this awesome broccoli salad.  I must get it from her, yummy! Salem met his Uncle Dean for the first time.  Uncle Dean has a way with little ones.  Salem was so content in his arms- he almost fell asleep :).  It was wonderful spending time with all the aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Happy Birthday, Grandma!
We went over to the Sinclair's house the day before to celebrate Tim's birthday with his family.  Avery loved hamming it up everyone.  I think she made Boompa run at least a couple miles chasing after her.  We just had barbecue and Tim got a carrot cake (his favorite).  Tim's sisters were in town, so we were able to spend some time with them.  They couldn't get over how much the kids have grown.  I'm so glad they were here!

Tim is Thirty...

We celebrated Tim's birthday this weekend.  Mom and Dad babysat the kids so that we could have a date night.  We went to a great restaurant, but the first thing the waitress did was sit us beside a baby and table full of soccer kids.  They weren't loud, so it was no big deal just kind of funny.  It was really nice to get out for some adult time.  Before we left, Mom asked Avery what birthday this was for Daddy. When Tim answered he got the Benjamin Button syndrome, because he lost a year!  It is hard to remember how old we are now.  I remember knowing my exact age by the millisecond when I was younger.  Anyway, Happy Thirty Something Birthday Tim!!
Salem is sitting up really well now.  We'll be starting him on rice cereal soon.  He had his 4 month appointment and weighs in at 14.4 ounces (29th percentile).  He's slowed down some on the weight gain.  He measures 26 inches in length ( 86th percentile).  He might be a tall boy! He and Avery have complete opposite growth curves.
We're still working on the potty training with Avery.  She's doing pretty good with #1, not so good with #2.  She'll get it though.  It's just going to be a little messy for a while.  She's loving preschool.  She is by far the most talkative of the group-surprise ;)

Potty Training Take 2 & Salem 16 Weeks

We've been house bound this past week.  We are in the midst of potty training Avery.  We gave it a go before Salem was born but had to cut it short due to the passing of my grandpa.  Then, I just had to get the courage up to deal with all the pee again!  We are beginning week 2 and making progress.  Avery has never really cared about being wet, even in her diapers.  This makes the "no pull ups only under wear" method frustrating.  We are sticking with it and using sticker bribes as well as a princess tiara for when she stops doing number two in her undies.  Sigh... wish us luck!
Salem is struggling some lately with his reflux.  It is heartbreaking when he's hurting and I'll be so glad when he is over this hurdle.   He's still as cute as ever though.  Smiley little man.  He loves watching everything his big sister does.  Avery is a little ham and is thrilled to entertain him.  She is so sweet with him.  She runs her fingers through his hair and gives him kisses. I love my babies!
They broke ground on our new house Tuesday.  They are saying January or February for a finish date, but it really depends on the weather.  We're so excited!!
